The second seminar considers “the Decision in Dwyer,” in which the CJEU held that EU law precludes the general and indiscriminate retention of electronic traffic and location data for the purposes of combating serious crimes. The panel considers the significance of this decision from the point of view of the rights of data subjects, the prevention of serious crimes, and criminal procedure.
