The Irish Centre for European Law (“ICEL”), in partnership with BKC Solicitors, Trayers & Company Solicitors, and Social Change Initiative are hosting a major human rights conference on Friday, 16 May 2025 in the Upper Library of the Inn of Court at the Royal Courts of Justice, Belfast. The conference will commence at 10:00 (registration from 09:30).

Tickets for the original date in January will be honored for the new date. 

The conference will be an opportunity for those with an interest in human rights law, whether north and south, to learn about the latest developments and trends relating to the the European Convention of Human Rights and the Council of Europe more broadly. It will also consider the practice of human rights law on the island of Ireland comparing approaches in both jurisdictions.

It will be of interest in particular to legal practitioners, legal scholars, representatives of the NGO sector, and students.

There are a limited number of tickets available for in-person attendance, but the conference will be available to view via live stream.

The programme features an impressive panel of speakers including judges, leading human rights practitioners, and academics.
