2026 ICEL Privacy and Data Protection Conference
The Irish Centre for European Law’s (ICEL) Annual Privacy and Data Protection Law Conference returns this year on Friday, 15 May 2026 from 2-5pm in Chartered Accountants House, 47-49 Pearse Street, Dublin 2 and streamed live online.
The conference will feature leading experts covering the latest developments and key topics for the future. The conference is an opportunity for legal practitioners, data protection professionals, and anyone with an interest in privacy and data protection get updated on developments in this rapidly evolving area of law.
We are delighted to confirm that Helen Dixon will deliver the keynote address. The conference will feature leading Irish and international speakers including:
- Professor Herke Kranenborg who is a professor in European Data Protection and Privacy Law at Maastricht University. Mr Kranenborg is also a member of the Legal Service of the European Commission working in the area of privacy and data protection.
- Professor Orla Lynskey who is UCL Laws as Chair of Law and Technology in September 2024. Ms Lynskey holds a Visiting Professorship at the College of Europe Bruges (2020-present) and was previously an Associate Professor at LSE Law School (2012-2024).
- Doctor David Fennelly SC, is a barrister practising from the Law Library, Dublin. Mr Fennelly specialises in public law and became a senior counsel in 2024. Mr Fennelly also lectures in the School of Law, Trinity College Dublin.
This will be a hybrid conference with tickets for ICEL members €95 for in-person attendance or €45 for online attendance. For non-members, tickets are €145 for in-person attendance or €95 for online attendance.
