The Aarhus Convention – 20 years on
3 CPD Points (Barristers) 3 General CPD Points (Solicitors)
The Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-Making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters (the Aarhus Convention) was adopted 20 years ago, in June 1998. It has led to a number of EU directives on public participation and access to information that in turn have had a significant impact on Irish environmental law and litigation. The ICEL is delighted to hold a conference examining the role and impact of the Aarhus Convention and its future developments. The line-up of speakers confirmed to date includes some of the leading Irish and international lawyers and decision makers.
