The third seminar in the ICEL’s Covid 19 and EU Law seminar series will take place on 30 June 2020 at 1 pm and will address “The Pandemic and Privacy and Data Protection.” The speakers at the seminar will be:

  • Professor Orla Lynskey, Associate Professor of Law, London School of Economics.
  • Professor Maria Grazia Porcedda, Assistant Professor of Law, Trinity College Dublin.
  • Mr Colum Walsh, Deputy Commissioner, Data Protection Commission.

This event is being organised in conjunction with the Corporate Law, Governance, and Capital Markets Researh Group and the Trinity Centre for Constitutional Law and Governance, both based at the Law School, Trinity College Dublin.

It is the third and final seminar in the series. The first, which will be held on 18 June 2020 from 1pm to 2 pm and will examine the recent German Constitutional Court’s Ruling in the BVerfG Judgment of 5 May 2020. The second seminar will be held on 25 June 2020 from 1 pm to 2pm and will examine the competition, public procurement law, and state aid issues arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
